The Freaduino Mega R3 is a development board based on the ATmega2560 microcontroller. This board has 54 I / O (14 of which can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs, quartz 16MHz, USB connection jack for external power supply, header for ICSP programming and a reset button. On board there is everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a PC through a USB cable to start. Arduino Mega is compatible with most shields for Arduino products.
The revision R3 uses a ATmega16U2 instead the ATmega8U2 also adds two pins (SDA and SCL) near AREF. In addition there are also two other new pins near the reset pin: one is IOREF, which allows the shield to adjust the voltage supplied from the card. The other is online and reserved for future use. The R3 works with all shield made for previous versions.
