The module is made up of a driver for stepper motors and of a motor directly connectable with the module.
The use of this module is linked to the connection to stepper motors, also said step by step; this kind of motor moves in discrete steps (single step). The rotation occurs thanks to a specific sequence of pulses, constant in time and width, applied at it’s input. The advantage consists in the possibility to drive the motor with small pulses reducing the dissipate power of the driving circuit (the transistors works in interlocking or in saturation so that the VxI product is always low).
The speed of the motor can easily be controlled adjusting the duration of the 4 control signals. Also the rotation direction can be easily modified.
The buffer circuit of the input signals is based on the component ULN2003.
The module also includes a stepper motor that can be connected directly to the board using the wire in the kit. Four leds indicates the value of the 4 control phases of the motor.
